Fort Wayne, IN. – A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle on Tuesday afternoon in Fort Wayne.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, the accident happened in the 4300 block of East State Boulevard near North Coliseum Boulevard at around 4:30 p.m.
The pedestrian had flagged down the vehicle of an off-duty officer and ran into the street. An on-duty officer traveling westbound on East State missed the pedestrian, but the pedestrian was struck by another vehicle.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
