Joliet, IL. – One person was killed after a multi-vehicle accident early Sunday morning in Joliet, Illinois, according to the Illinois State Police.
The accident occurred at 5:12 a..m. on April 26 on Interstate 55 at Black Road.
Police said at least two vehicles crashed in unclear circumstances. One of the vehicles was on the shoulder of the highway while the other vehicle was alongside the road after the accident.
One individual was killed in the crash.
Police closed all southbound lanes following the collision. Traffic was diverted off Interstate 55 southbound at Route 30. The roadway was later reopened.
Further details regarding this crash were not released.
