Troopers said a car operated by a 26-year-old woman from Pembroke Pines was heading northbound on the turnpike when it crashed into the back of another car driven by a 67-year-old Fort Lauderdale man.

Broward County, FL. – A 31-year-old Fort Lauderdale man was killed after a multi-vehicle accident early Monday morning on Florida’s Turnpike in Sunrise, Broward County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The accident happened on December 29, on the turnpike, north of Sunrise Boulevard.
Troopers said a car operated by a 26-year-old woman from Pembroke Pines was heading northbound on the turnpike when it crashed into the back of another car driven by a 67-year-old Fort Lauderdale man. The second vehicle crashed into the guardrail, rolled over and rested on its roof.
The 67-year-old man was transported to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment.
The other car continued driving over the outside paved shoulder before going down into a ditch.
A passenger in the vehicle, identified as a 31-year-old Fort Lauderdale man, was declared dead at the crash site.
The female driver was transported to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment.
