Sierra Vista, AZ. – A 77-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Sierra Vista on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Sierra Vista Police Department.
The deadly accident was reported around 12:30 p.m. on October 7, at the intersection of Avenida Cochise and Highway 92.
Investigators believe the motorcyclist was making a left turn from eastbound Avenida Cochise onto northbound Highway 92 when he failed to stop his motorcycle for a vehicle traveling westbound on Avenida Cochise through the intersection.
The rider was airlifted to a hospital for treatment, but he died at the hospital.
Police ran a DUI and arrested the driver of the involved car, Cody Polaski, 26, of Sierra Vista.
The intersection was temporarily shut to allow on-scene investigations.
