Peoria, AZ – A woman died two weeks after being involved in a car collision that occurred earlier this month in Peoria, according to the Peoria Police Department.

The accident took place on 107th and Northern Avenues on May 11.

Police reported that Abrielle Lopez and her boyfriend, Brian Salinas, were traveling in the area when they were hit head-on by a vehicle driven by a suspected DUI driver.

Lopez was hospitalized in critical condition and was taken off life support two weeks later.

The incident left Salinas with multiple injuries including a broken ankle, broken knee, broken femur, broken ribs, and a punctured lung.

The second driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI following the incident.

The accident remains under investigation.
