Clark County, WA. – One person was killed in a collision that happened in Clark County on Thursday, March 27.

According to the police, the accident happened around 1:05 p.m. on NE Highway 99.

A Lexus RX400 was traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided with a Toyota Camry. The impact of the collision sent the Camry off the roadway where it struck a power pole.

The driver of the Camry, 56-year-old Kimberly Butler, was transported to the hospital where she died while receiving treatment.

The driver of the Lexus, 20-year-old Diego Quintana, and his two passengers attempted to leave the scene before authorities arrived but were apprehended.

Quintana was treated at a medical center and subsequently booked into the Clark County Jail on charges of vehicular homicide, hit and run resulting in death, driving under the influence.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
