Three people killed in collision on Interstate 74 near mile marker 63 in Gilson
Knox County, IL. – Three people died in a car accident near Gilson on Thursday, January 30.
According to Illinois State Police, the accident happened around 3:08 a.m. on Interstate 74 near Mile Marker 63.
Todd A. Graves, 61, of Springfield, Ohio, was driving a gray 2012 Cadillac sedan westbound in the eastbound lanes when he collided head-on with a 2019 Toyota SUV operated by Steven H. Youngquist, 70, of Galesburg.
Youngquist and Graves were pronounced dead at the accident scene.
72-year-old Christine Youngquist was riding in the Toyota and was transported to a local hospital where she later died.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
