Tuson, AZ – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a suspected DUI driver in Tucson on Thursday evening, according to the Tucson Police Department.
The accident took place at about 7 p.m. on February 6, in the 3000 block of North Oracle Road.
Antonio Benjamin Dorame, 25, was trying to walk across North Oracle Road outside of the crosswalk when he was hit by a 2005 Honda Civic traveling north at a speed higher than the posted limit.
The driver then continued heading north and failed to stop for a red light at the intersection of Fort Lowell Road, leading to a three-vehicle collision.
Dorame was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver, Juan Carlos Urquidez, 21, was taken to Banner-University Medical Center with serious injuries.
Urquidez, who was suspected of DUI, was then arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail on multiple charges including manslaughter and aggravated assault.
The incident is under investigation.
