Grandchildren Seriously Injured in Prescott Area Crash

( October 24, 2018 ) Prescott, AZ — A 75-year-old-woman and her three grandchildren were in a severe collision resulting in injuries north of Prescott on Tuesday, October 23rd. They were among six people total who were in injured in this accident.

The woman was driving her three grandchildren around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, when her Hyundai Sonata collided with a Ford F-350 truck at Williamson Valley and Hootenanny roads, which are north of the city.

As the woman’s vehicle was crossing Williamson Valley Road, it was struck by the truck as it approached from the southbound direction.

The 75-year-old woman and her 10-year-old grandchild were both airlifted to a Phoenix hospital in critical condition with multiple severe injuries, that include possible fractured ribs and jaw.

According to the preliminary investigation, the woman was not wearing a seat belt and neither were the children. The 6-year-old and 3-year-old passengers were taken to Phoenix Children’s Hospital with minor injuries.

The truck driver was identified as an 18-year-old Prescott local. He and his passenger received minor injuries.
