Girl Riding Bike in Phoenix Taken to Hospital After Accident

An 11-year old girl was airlifted to Phoenix Childeren’s Hospital on Tuesday morning after being hit by a vehicle while riding her bike. The bicycle accident in Phoenix caused Monroe Street near 87th Avenue to be closed for several hours.

Police believe that the girl was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the car stayed on the scene.

The cause of the bike accident is still being investigated.
