Tolleson Street Sweeper Crash

According to reports from Arizona State Troopers, a woman in her 40s was injured and two girls were killed when their pickup truck that was retrofitted to a street sweeper fell approximately 20 feet off the 1-10 overpass at the AZ-101 Loop in Tolleson around 3:00 a.m.  

The 10-year-old girl was thrown from the vehicle on the on ramp. The seven-year-old girl was found outside the vehicle where it landed. Both were declared dead on scene. Law enforcement do not believe that safety belts were worn. 

The woman driver required vehicle extrication by a firefighter rescue team. After which she was transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation of injuries.  

The Tolleson street sweeper crash is still under investigation by law enforcement. Eyewitnesses and the woman driver have been in communications providing further insight.
