Tempe, Arizona (May 5, 2018) – An officer involved accident occurred in Tempe, AZ on Saturday. The crash involved the officer’s vehicle as well as two others. One of the other vehicles included a City of Tempe bus. Paramedics transported four people to the hospital. The bus driver and the officer suffered minor injuries. The driver and passenger from the third vehicle, a red car, susttained serious injuries. Paramedics treated two passengers from the bus at the scene and later released them both.
According to Lt. Damon DeSpain with the Tempe Police Department, the collision appears to have occurred first between the bus and the red vehicle. The two vehicles then collided with the officer’s SUV. The bus, driving northbound, and the red vehicle, driving southbound, collided. They collided with the SUV, also driving northbound. The crash occurred near McClintock and Alameda around 8:45pm.
