Wednesday, September 12, 2018 – A 17-year-old girl died from a multi-vehicle car crash in northern Phoenix, Arizona.
The accident happened near 32nd Street and Union Hills Drive. The driver of a Kia sedan ran a red light and collided with a Ford pickup. According to Phoenix police, the force of the impact was so great that it caused the Kia to collide with an additional Ford F-150 as they were waiting to turn at an intersection. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 7:30 pm.
The 17-year-old passenger of the Kia died from her injuries, Phoenix police say. Three teens who were also in the Kia were rushed to the hospital for treatment of severe injuries. The drivers of both pickup trucks suffered minor injuries and sought treatment.
Phoenix police stated that the driver of one of the pickups is undergoing alcohol impairment processing. So, an investigation is ongoing. Phoenix police have not stated any further updates.
