Man Waiting in Tucson Car Wash Struck and Killed

Tucson, AZ (May 6, 2018) – An employee at a Tucson car wash accidentally struck 61 year-old Manuel Castro Leon. The employee in a pickup truck struck Leon as he was leaving. The worker drove a red Chevrolet Silverado LTZ.

Police stated Leon appeared to be sitting down at the time of the crash.

Police also stated the worker was on his cell, but ended the call prior to leaving the car wash. Co-workers called the employee and told him he hit Leon. The employee returned immediately to the scene.

Police do not suspect impairment or speed. Police have not issued any citations or arrests. The crash remains under investigation.

The accident occurred at Tony’s Carwash at 4415 S 6th Ave.
