Piatt County, IL. – One person was killed in a car accident that left four others injured on Sunday afternoon in Piatt County.

According to the Piatt County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 3:20 p.m. in the area of 2500 North Road and 800 East Road.

44-year-old Jason Sharp, of Farmer City, was driving westbound on 2500 North Road when he failed to yield the right of way and collided with a car traveling north on 800 East Road.

The impact of the collision caused the car to roll over.

50-year-old Joshua Beck of Mansfield was driving the second vehicle and was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

Sharp and his two passengers were taken to a hospital by an ambulance.

A third passenger was airlifted to Carle Hospital in Urbana.

The Piatt County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police and the Piatt County Coroner’s Office are helping with the investigation.
