Elkhart County, IN. – At least one person was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Thursday evening in Elkhart County.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 5:39 p.m. in the area of S.R. 19 and Roseland Road.

64-year-old Dixie Athy was driving a 2015 Chevy Equinox westbound when he reportedly failed to yield the right of way and was struck on the driver’s side by a northbound 2002 GMC truck, driven by a 67-year-old Three Rivers man.

Athy was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with minor injuries.

The GMC truck driver was unhurt.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
