Marcus Johnson Dies After Crashing into a Tucson Home

Tucson, AZ (July 26, 2018)- Marcus Johnson, 27, is dead following a car crash into an east side Tucson home early Sunday morning. Tucson Police are currently investigating the deadly wreck off Camino Seco and East 21st Street.

The crash happened at early Sunday morning, around 2:30 a.m. after a car hit a median, flipped and hit the home. Marcus Johnson died at the scene.

The passenger of the vehicle was hospitalized with critical injuries. Whether the driver was impaired or not remains unknown.

The family in the home were safe, sleeping just a foot away from the crash. Delilah Holley, her husband and 11-year-old grandson were inside the home and received no injuries from the crash.

Delilah woke up to the smell of gas and a loud explosion. She walked into the living room and saw shattered glass and the tail light of a car. As she investigated further and found that her front door was gone. The family had to escape the home through the garage.

Delilah reminds everyone to take it one day at a time.
