Lerner and Rowe Participate in the Phoenix Rescue Mission
Water is an essential item that all living creatures need to survive. The law offices of Lerner and Rowe are extending their own water donation collection aid efforts for another month past the Phoenix Rescue Mission’s annual heat relief water donation drive to help during the hot summer months. Kevin Rowe, founder of the nonprofit organization Lerner and Rowe Gives Back and also founding partner of Lerner and Rowe Injury Attorneys and Lerner and Rowe Law Group, believes that collectively, business owners and individuals can save lives.
He strongly encourages those who can contribute do so. “Any organization operating independently can only do so much. But collectively, through a network approach, we help one charitable organization and in turn they ‘pay it forward’ by helping families or another charitable organization.”
Mark Tullis, Director at Phoenix Rescue Mission, shared the following story explaining the appreciation and unspeakable gratitude that a few bottles of water brought a thirsty homeless man…
Kevin and Linda,
There is a week left for the Phoenix Rescue Mission water drive and I thought this story might give a little encouragement to those at L & R that are helping to make a difference in the lives of the homeless.
Let me tell you about one person that you’ve touched this week. Late Friday afternoons, I sometimes bring the mail to the Phoenix Main Post Office on Washington. Near the drive-up mail boxes, I always see the same homeless man lying in the rocks, shading himself with a shopping cart filled with every possession that he owns.
Last Friday before I left the office, I grabbed a garbage bag, filled it with 10-12 bottles of water, threw some ice on top and drove to the post office. My dashboard display showed 111 degrees. As I pulled up in my air conditioned car, I beeped my horn. The man lethargically looked up almost too tired to lift his head off the ground. I handed him the bag through the passenger window, told him that God loves him, and that the Phoenix Rescue Mission was ready to help him. He took the bag, looked inside, and immediately opened a bottle of water. As he was drinking, he thanked me with his eyes.
This Friday that will be the water that Lerner and Rowe Give Back has collected. Will this save a life… I don’t know but I do know you’ll make his day a whole lot better.
Please share this story with others. What you are doing is unbelievable! Thank you.
