A 13-year-old Yuma teen was hit by a truck in the drop-off lane outside of Centennial Middle School on Wednesday morning at about 6:45 AM. The injured teen was first rushed to Yuma Regional Medical Center for immediate medical care. He was then flown to Phoenix for additional treatment at Barrow Neurological Institute.
Investigators with the Yuma Police Department (YPD) are still making inquiries into the accident. Initial reports shared state that the 17-year-old driver who hit the young male didn’t appear to use their phone.
