1 Killed in Pedestrian Collision on 24th Street
Yuma, Arizona (April 2, 2018) – A 61-year-old man received critically injuries after a vehicle struck him Sunday night in a pedestrian accident on 24th Street. According to a Yuma Police Department report, the accident took place at around 10:33 p.m. Sunday, April 1. on the 24th Street at the intersection of Elks Lane.
Relevant details from the report concluded that the man crossed northbound on 24th Street by Elks Lane when a Ford Fusion hit him. A 19-year-old man was the at-fault driver behind the wheel that struck the older man.
Paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to 61-year-old. His critical injuries required aerial transport from the Yuma Regional Medical Center to a Phoenix hospital for further treatment. The 19-year-old man was not injured.
