Phoenix, AZ (July 11, 2018)- A Phoenix woman remains hospitalized after being struck by a car late Tuesday evening.
The woman was crossing 32nd Street, not in a crosswalk, near Thomas Road around 11 in the evening, according to Sgt. Mercedes Fortune, spokesperson of the Phoenix PD.
Authorities on the scene stated that a car driving north on 32nd Street swerved to avoid the pedestrian, and a vehicle travelling south over-corrected and, unfortunately, struck the woman.
According to Fortune, the woman had serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital. She is expected to survive.
The driver remained on the scene, and impairment didn’t appear to be a factor in the collision, Fortune also stated. The investigation continues.
