Okaloosa County, FL- One person was seriously hurt in a big rig collision in Okaloosa County on Friday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on State Road 8 (Interstate 10) near County Road 189 at about 1:13 p.m. January 17.
According to FHP, a 71-year-old man from Anna, Texas, was driving a semi-tractor trailer eastbound in the right lane of SR 8 when he drifted into the emergency lanes and slammed into another semi-tractor trailer stopped in the outside lane.
The Texas man was hospitalized with serious injuries. The other driver, a 47-year-old man from Crawfordsville, was treated for minor injuries.
The eastbound lanes of SR 8 were shut down as authorities worked to clear the scene. An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
