Freak crash caused by falling pumpkin from overpass

November 14, 2018- A falling pumpkin struck a 64-year-old woman’s car. This caused a significant freak crash.

Someone threw the pumpkin from North Goldring Road overpass. This happened at about 9:30 pm. The pumpkin landed and also smashed in the car’s windshield. The car had been driving east near the 44 mile marker.  As a result, the car crashed into the ditch. Thankfully, the woman only suffered minor injuries.

The incident occurred in Michigan City, IN. Consequently, this is the third incident this month in the same area of the same nature. All three incidents occurred between 8:44 pm and midnight. Two were on this exact overpass, while the other exact location remains unknown. Indiana State Police arrived on the scene. Also, they worry about the multiple occurrences.

This action could possibly cause anything from a misdemeanor to a felony charge. Authorities consider criminal mischief  a misdemeanor. However, overpass mischief is considered a felony if someone is hurt. This charge could be a possibility, as this woman was hurt. Hopefully, this was the third and last such event

Lerner and Rowe Injury Attorneys hopes for a speedy recovery to the woman involved and also a quick carriage of justice to whoever is responsible for this freak crash.
