Yuma Holiday Parades

If you have little ones, your family will love the Foothills Parade of Lights. Even adults who do not have kids will find this parade to be quite entertaining. It all kicks off at 6 PM on Saturday, December 16. You can also catch the South Side RV Parks Parade and North Side RV Parks Parade on December 16 and 17, respectively. Both parades start at 6 in the evening.

Additional Yuma Holiday Events

Head on over to the Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park between Saturday, December 15 and Saturday, December 22 to enjoy the Christmas Village. This holiday extravaganza is open from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. each night. Grab Polar Pass tickets for your family for $5 each. Kids 5 and younger are provided with free entry as long as their parent/guardian purchases a ticket. Christmas Village also provides bounce houses, obstacle courses, balloon animals, face painting, sledding, ornament making and amazing food.

Additional holiday activities in Yuma include a showing of the Polar Express movie, Yuma Ballet Theater, cookies with Santa, a performance by the Gadsden Jr. High Jazz Band and Christmas throughout the Park.

If you plan to drink alcohol before, during or after attending any of these activities, designate a driver prior to heading out or rely on a taxi/Uber.

Avoid an Injury During the Holidays

The hustle and bustle of the holidays increases the odds of an injury for adults as well as children. People are out and about, shopping, celebrating and visiting with family and friends. The best way to avoid an injury during the holidays is to maintain a heightened state of awareness.

When driving, keep your eyes on the road. The roads are especially busy during this time of the year. If possible, try to avoid driving during peak hours over the holiday season.

Also, try to make use of parking and shuttle services when visiting a planned activity to help reduce traffic congestion. As an example, parking and shuttle services are available for Christmas Village revelers. Just park and let a shuttle driver take you from your parked car to the entrance of the Village.
