State Trooper Killed Responding to Crash

Chicago, IL (January 12, 2018)- Illinois state trooper Christopher Lambert was struck by a vehicle as he responded to a crash.

A crash had occurred as Lambert headed home for the day, around 4:45 pm. The collision happened near Willow Road, on the left shoulder of I-294.

Lambert exited his car when a vehicle on the highway did not stop, struck him, and threw him several feet.

An off duty nurse stopped her vehicle at the scene to help, where she performed CPR. Lambert was taken to Glenbrook Hospital where he passed away a few hours later.

Christopher Lambert leaves behind a wife and one year old daughter. He was a state trooper for five years, and previously was in the US Army.
