Tucson, Arizona (May 7, 2018) – A multi vehicle crash shut down west Tanque Verde Road on Monday.
A Pima County Sheriff’s deputy was driving on east Tanque Verde. The Deputy approached a left turn lane. The Deputy attempted to head north on Catalina Highway. Then a truck struck the Deputy’s vehicle.
Sheriff’s Deputy Cody Gress stated that five vehicles collided. The Deputy’s vehicle also suffered serious damage. Paramedics also transported the Deputy to the hospital.
Several other vehicles also sustained heavy damage. Everyone involved suffered minor injuries.
The Tucson Police Department responded to the scene. The PCSD Traffic Unit also arrived on scene. The investigation is still ongoing.
