Phoenix, AZ (July 22,2018) A fatal crash that shut down McDowell Road is currently under investigation by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. The wreck happened in west Phoenix early Saturday afternoon, around 2 p.m.
A female travelling westbound in a Ford Explorer on McDowell Road drove through an intersection at 91st, and then proceeded to hit a traffic pole. The driver was transported to a local hospital, but unfortunately later succumbed to her injuries.
The Explorer had a passenger; they were also transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. They were later reported to be in stable condition.
The accident remains under investigation and no other information was available currently.
