Phoenix, AZ (May 2, 2018)– A pedestrian, David Curry Sr., was killed after a potentially impaired driver. The incident occurred near Thomas and 83rd Avenue late Tuesday night.
According to the Phoenix police, the incident started at 9 p.m., when David Curry Sr. was attempting to traverse 83rd Avenue outside of the designated crosswalks.
According to a spokesperson, David Curry Sr., 53, died after being struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on 83rd Avenue. The 24-year-old driver stayed at the scene and waited for officers.
Officials confirmed that Curry Sr. died at the scene of the crash.
The impairment seems to be because of prescription medication.
The police are currently investigating the accident.
